High on a council office tower in the heart of Aylesbury, a specially built nest platform gives a pair of peregrine falcons a secure ledge overlooking the rooftops of the town. The birds have adopted the site as their breeding territory, favoured for the height and shelter the structure provides.

Life on the Ledge

The camera looks straight down onto the nest box, capturing every stage of the birds' routine: incubating eggs, delivering prey, and feeding downy chicks as they grow toward fledging. Pigeon and gull remains scattered across the platform are evidence of the falcons' skill as aerial hunters.
