This camera sits inside a purpose-built bat box, its lens pressed against the textured grain of weathered timber. The three internal chambers create the snug, vertical crevices that bats instinctively seek out, and the integrated infrared illuminators keep the interior visible without disturbing any roosting residents.

Engineered for a Colony

The 24-inch box was custom designed to house a compact IP camera while still meeting the spatial needs of tree-roosting bats. Each narrow chamber mimics the gap behind loose bark, providing the warmth and security a maternity colony depends on as it raises its young.
