About This Webcam
Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Sheltered Atlantic Harbour
The Marina da Calheta shelters hundreds of moored yachts and small craft behind a man-made breakwater on the southwestern shore of Madeira. The curving quays and pontoons make this one of the island's busiest recreational ports, a base for sailing, fishing and dolphin-watching excursions into the open Atlantic.
The Town of Calheta
Above the water, the whitewashed houses of Calheta climb the steep terraced hillsides once planted with sugar cane and banana groves. The municipality is one of Madeira's most traditional, known for its rum distillery, its MUDAS Contemporary Art Museum, and the imported golden sands of its artificial beach.
Boats, Beach and Coastline
From this elevated vantage the webcam captures the full sweep of the marina, the breakwater pier and the Calheta beach tucked against the rocky volcanic coast. It is an ideal view for boaters, travellers and anyone drawn to Madeira's dramatic southern shoreline.
