A Legendary Meeting Point
Rt Planka, also known as Cape Ploča, is the easternmost point of the central Adriatic coast, a place where northern and southern winds, currents, and weather systems have collided for millennia. Ancient Greek sailors called it Diomedes' Cape, and its dramatic mood was recorded by chroniclers more than two thousand years ago.
Karst Coastline and Chapel
The rugged limestone terrain, dotted with Mediterranean scrub, slopes gently toward the sea beside a small stone building linked to local maritime tradition. A votive church nearby commemorates a legend of shipwrecked sailors saved along this rocky shore.
Lighthouse and Sailing Waters
A slender lighthouse marks the offshore reef, guiding vessels through waters that remain a favorite route for sailing crews and regattas navigating between the islands of central Dalmatia.
