The Stork Nest

The camera looks straight onto a substantial white stork (Ciconia ciconia) nest, a dense mound of branches assembled over many seasons. From this vantage you can follow the resident pair and their growing chicks as they preen, shuffle, and stand sentinel over their lofty home.

A Münsterland Setting

The nest sits at Driland, a quiet corner of Gronau (Westfalen) in North Rhine-Westphalia, close to the Dutch border. Surrounding hedgerows, birch trees, and flat farmland are classic Münsterland habitat that has long drawn nesting storks.

Watching the Storks
