Dyfi Osprey Nest Cam

A Purpose-Built Osprey Eyrie

Perched atop a tall wooden pole at the edge of the reserve, this nest platform was built specifically to attract breeding ospreys back to mid-Wales. Sticks, moss and soft lining gathered by the pair form a sturdy eyrie that is reused and rebuilt season after season.

Raising the Next Generation

The resident pair shares incubation and feeding duties, with the adult female often remaining close to the chicks while her mate ranges over the estuary to hunt. Fish deliveries, wing-stretching and gradual fledging attempts are all part of the seasonal rhythm captured here.

Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve

The nest overlooks a lowland raised bog and wetland reserve on the Dyfi estuary, home to otters, water voles and a wealth of wading birds alongside the ospreys. The reserve's reedbeds and open grassland stretch toward the surrounding hills of Powys.

Conservation in Action

The camera supports a long-running conservation and research project that has tracked this osprey population since the birds first returned to breed. Viewers can watch ringing, nest-building and chick-rearing unfold as part of the reserve's ongoing monitoring work.
