A River Park at the City's Heart

Set on an island in the middle of the Kokemäenjoki river, Kirjurinluoto forms the green core of Pori's National Urban Park. A timber footbridge links it to the surrounding neighborhoods, while open lawns, mature trees and a still pond give the park its distinctive, picturesque character.

Pelle Hermanni Playground and Family Amenities

Spanning nearly three hectares, the famous Pelle Hermanni playground offers slides and climbing frames for children of every age, entirely free of charge. Families also find a traffic-safety park for young cyclists, a swimming beach, and grazing alpacas, goats and peacocks during the warmer months.

Since the 1960s, Kirjurinluoto has hosted the world-renowned Pori Jazz Festival, and its event arena continues to welcome Aito Iskelmä, Porispere and other major cultural gatherings that draw both locals and visitors from across Finland.
