The Côte de Nacre Shore
Langrune-sur-Mer sits between Luc-sur-Mer and Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer on Normandy's Pearl Coast. Its gently shelving fine-sand beach reveals vast firm flats at low tide, a classic playground for sand yachting, paddleboarding and family bathing along the English Channel.
Seafront and Promenade
The camera overlooks the digue, the raised seawall walk that runs the length of the resort. From here strollers take in the open horizon of La Manche, while colourful sails and beach huts dot the foreshore.
A Coast Shaped by History
This shore lies within the D-Day sector, liberated on 6 June 1944. Nearby stand the fortified Gothic church of Saint-Martin and the great memorial sites of Arromanches, Juno Beach and the Mémorial de Caen.
Visiting Langrune-sur-Mer
An authentic, unhurried Norman resort, Langrune pairs its preserved beach with a weekly market of regional produce — fresh seafood, Isigny butter and cream, cider and Calvados. It lies just 18 km from Caen.
