About This Webcam
Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Protected Osprey Nest
Tucked into a conifer plantation overlooking Loch Doon in East Ayrshire, this nest has hosted breeding ospreys for more than a decade. East Ayrshire Leisure Trust installed the camera to let viewers follow the pair's remarkable journey without disturbing the birds.
A Remarkable Migratory Raptor
Ospreys are fish-eating birds of prey that migrate thousands of miles between Africa and Scotland every year. The nest, built from sticks and lined with moss, becomes the stage for courtship, egg-laying and the rearing of chicks in full view of the camera.
Conservation Through Livestreaming
Because ospreys are a specially protected species, close-up access to the nest is restricted by law โ the livestream is the safest way to watch this fascinating family without approaching the site. The feed is shared publicly to support education and appreciation of Scotland's returning raptor population.
