Messilä Laaso Slope
OnlineThe Laaso slope climbs from a timber lodge terrace at Messilä Ski Resort across an open meadow toward a dense Finnish forest ridge, with the resort's chairlift tracing a steady line up the hill beside the run. A boardwalk and viewing deck let guests watch the slope from the lodge, while the wildflower-lined meadow gives way each winter to one of Messilä's signature ski descents.

A Slope for Every Season
The Laaso run is one of the named descents at Messilä Ski Resort, an established winter-sports destination in the rolling hills of Päijät-Häme. Outside the ski season the same open corridor becomes a wildflower-strewn meadow, framed by tall Finnish spruce and birch forest that climbs the ridge behind it.
Lift and Lodge
A chairlift line runs the length of the slope, carrying skiers and riders to the top in winter and standing as a permanent landmark year-round. At the foot of the run, a timber-decked lodge terrace with benches offers a relaxed vantage point over the hill, complete with a small maintenance shed tucked at its edge.
Part of a Larger Resort
Messilä is known for its network of runs catering to families and intermediate skiers, and the Laaso camera sits alongside sister cameras trained on the resort's other slopes. Together they give a continuous view of one of the region's most visited winter destinations near Lahti.
