A Balcony Over the Val Sarmento

Set on a rocky spur at the edge of Noepoli, this paved piazza doubles as a natural balcony over the Val Sarmento valley. A low stone parapet lines the terrace, framing an uninterrupted sweep of rolling hills and cultivated terraces that fall away toward the valley floor.

Guardian of Memory

At the heart of the square stands a marble war memorial, its base ringed by potted plants and wreaths honoring the village's fallen. The monument anchors daily life in Noepoli, a quiet meeting point where parked cars and passersby share the same worn stone pavement that has served the community for generations.

Gateway to the Pollino

Noepoli sits within the broader territory of the Pollino National Park, Italy's largest protected wilderness, straddling the border between Basilicata and Calabria.
