A Suburban Rooftop Panorama

Perched high above the Villages of Hidden Lake subdivision northeast of Austin, this camera surveys a broad sweep of Pflugerville rooftops, mature oaks, and open sky. The elevated mount was chosen specifically to give an unobstructed sightline across the neighborhood toward the horizon.

Austin Skyline and Airport Approach

Along the left edge of the frame sits the approach corridor for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, while the Austin downtown skyline rises roughly a quarter of the way across the view from the left. On the right, the intersection of Interstate 35 and Toll 45 marks the edge of the visible horizon.

Built for Weather, Air Traffic, and Broadcast Watching

A Davis Instruments weather station shares the mounting pole with the camera, feeding live conditions to regional weather trackers. A cluster of broadcast towers near the 360 Bridge blinks steadily in the middle distance, doubling as a handy landmark for orienting the wide-angle view.

A Community Landmark for Pilots and Neighbors

Installed by a local resident in November 2022, the Reolink 4K camera has become a reference point for the National Weather Service, private pilots, and drone operators tracking conditions over southwest Pflugerville, alongside neighbors keeping an eye on their own corner of the sky.
