High on a purpose-built osprey platform overlooking the open water of Ranworth Broad, this camera brings viewers face to face with one of Britain's most celebrated conservation comebacks. The nest, built from tangled branches and soft lining, sits at the heart of a wetland mosaic of open broad, fen and wet woodland.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Flagship Reserve

Ranworth Broad forms the centrepiece of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's largest nature reserve, part of the wider Broads National Park. The trust manages the surrounding reedbeds and grazing marshes to support a rich community of wetland wildlife alongside the resident raptors.

Life on the Platform

The camera captures the full rhythm of nesting life — incubation, fish deliveries, territorial displays and the eventual fledging of the young. Ospreys rebuild and reinforce the same nest structure each season, adding fresh branches atop the accumulated framework of previous years.

A Wetland Landscape Beyond the Nest

Framing the nest is a backdrop of dense woodland and open water typical of the Norfolk Broads, a landscape shaped by centuries of peat digging that flooded into the network of lakes and channels seen today.
