Sail Rock Bay Snorkel & Surf

The Sail Rock Landmark

The bay takes its name from Sail Rock (船帆石), a towering coral boulder whose silhouette resembles a ship under full sail. Rising some 18 metres from the shoreline, it is one of the most photographed natural landmarks along the Hengchun Peninsula and a defining feature of Kenting National Park.

A Coastal Recreation Hub

Sheltered by green headlands, the cove draws snorkellers, swimmers and divers to its clear water and shallow coral gardens. The feed is operated by Taiwan's National Academy of Marine Research through its GoOcean service, which monitors sea conditions for surfing, paddling and other water sports.

The Hengchun Peninsula Setting

This is Taiwan's southernmost coast, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Bashi Channel. The surrounding Kenting area is famed for its tropical climate, coral reefs and rugged volcanic headlands, making it the island's premier destination for marine tourism.

Marine Safety & Observation

Beyond its scenery, the camera supports GoOcean's mission of ocean-safety awareness, helping visitors gauge swell, visibility and surf conditions before entering the water. It offers a continuous window onto one of Pingtung County's busiest stretches of coastline.
