Life of a Fish Hawk Family

Ospreys are skilled fish-hunting raptors, and the pair returns to this same nest to court, incubate their eggs and raise their chicks in full view of the camera. Viewers can watch nest maintenance, prey deliveries and the gradual fledging of the young birds over the season.

The nest overlooks the Willamette River corridor near West Salem, a landscape of riverside parkland and open fields that keeps the birds close to a reliable food supply while nesting well above ground level.
