A Sweeping Northwest Bay

Facing the open Ionian Sea, this broad sandy bay is one of the largest beaches on Corfu, backed by low dunes and pine-covered hills. The gently shelving seabed and clear, shallow water make the cove a natural amphitheatre for swimmers and sunbathers spread across its long shoreline.

Porto Timoni and Afionas

The rugged headland visible across the bay leads to the famed Porto Timoni twin cove, a double bay separated by a narrow strip of land and reachable only on foot. Above it, the whitewashed houses of Afionas village cling to the ridge, giving the whole scene its distinctive northwest-Corfu silhouette.

A Beach Built for Water Lovers

Straw umbrellas, wooden sunbeds and a scatter of beach bars line the sand, while small boats and pedal craft venture out into the bay. The combination of open sea views and a sheltered, family-friendly shoreline has made this stretch a favourite base for exploring the island's wilder northwest coastline.
