A Sweeping View of Carmarthen Bay

The camera looks out from above Saundersfoot Beach, a broad sandy shore on the shores of Carmarthen Bay in South West Wales. The tidal sands stretch out toward a scatter of low rock outcrops offshore, with wooded cliffs rising along the far edge of the bay.

The Harbour Wall

To the right of the frame, a solid stone harbour wall curves out into the bay, protecting Saundersfoot Harbour and its moored boats from the open sea. The structure has sheltered local fishing and pleasure craft for generations.

Saundersfoot is a well-known village on the Pembrokeshire Coast, built around its harbour and a string of sandy beaches. The village sits within easy reach of the wider Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, one of Wales's most celebrated stretches of coastline.
