The Historic Old Village

This camera overlooks the Vieux Village of Val d'Isère, the original mountain settlement that predates the modern ski resort. Hand-laid stone walls, timber balconies and steep lauze slate roofs recall centuries of alpine building tradition, clustered tightly along narrow cobbled streets.

Église Saint-Bernard

Dominating the view is the Baroque parish church of Saint-Bernard-de-Menthon, whose distinctive onion-domed bell tower and clock have long marked the heart of the village. The church remains a beloved landmark and a focal point for the community.

The Surrounding Alps

Beyond the rooftops rise the peaks of the Tarentaise Valley, with forested lower slopes giving way to rocky high-altitude ridges. Val d'Isère sits at roughly 1,850 metres, encircled by some of the highest terrain in the French Alps.

A World-Renowned Resort

Val d'Isère is one of the most famous mountain destinations in France, linked with neighbouring Tignes to form the vast Espace Killy ski domain. The village blends authentic Savoyard character with a lively international atmosphere.
