White Stork Nest at Olševek

The Nesting Platform

The camera frames a large white stork nest built atop a pole that a local resident erected specifically for the birds. After the pole was raised, a breeding pair moved in and has returned to the same Olševek nest for well over a decade, making it a reliable window onto one family's life.

White Storks Up Close

The tight, elevated angle reveals the storks' red bills and black-and-white plumage in fine detail. Viewers follow courtship, incubation, the raising of chicks and the endless coming and going of the adults as they gather twigs and forage for the growing brood.

The Kranj Countryside

Set among the wooded farmland of the Kranj area in northwestern Slovenia, the nest overlooks the fields and forests of the Gorenjska region below the Kamnik–Savinja Alps — classic white-stork habitat of open meadows and scattered trees.

A Respectful Vantage

The feed is captured from a rooftop roughly 80 metres away so the birds are never disturbed, and an on-screen bar shows real-time environmental readings. It is a quiet, ongoing study of one of Europe's most beloved migratory birds.
