Location and Geography

The Baixada Santista stretches along approximately 60 kilometers of Atlantic coastline in São Paulo State, Brazil. This metropolitan region is strategically positioned between the Serra do Mar mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, connecting São Paulo's interior with the sea through modern highways that descend the steep coastal mountains.

Economic and Port Characteristics

The region is globally recognized for housing the Port of Santos, the largest in Latin America and one of the world's leading port complexes. This infrastructure makes the Baixada Santista Brazil's main export corridor, especially for agricultural products, manufactured goods, and raw materials from the country's interior.
