Chaojing Bay sits at the eastern edge of Keelung's coastline, where the National Academy of Marine Research and the marine-science museum anchor a hub of ocean research. The camera frames a calm cove cradled by rocky headlands, its tidal pool a defining feature of this stretch of shore.

A Protected Conservation Area

The bay is a designated marine resource conservation zone, where fishing is restricted so that marine life can flourish. Schools of fish, sea urchins and soft corals shelter among the boulders, making it one of northern Taiwan's most cherished snorkeling and free-diving sites.
