Historic University Quad

A Historic Campus Core

This tree-lined quadrangle forms the oldest section of the university grounds, its long lawn bordered by mature elms and cottonwoods planted generations ago. The view looks down the green toward a columned academic building that anchors the far end of the mall.

Architecture & Landscape

Brick pathways and wrought-iron lamps trace the edges of the lawn, while dense canopies of foliage on either side create a shaded, cathedral-like corridor. The neoclassical façade visible in the distance reflects the campus's early-20th-century architectural character.

A Living Gathering Space

Students and staff cross the quad daily, using it as a shortcut between academic buildings and a favorite spot to relax on the grass. Its open, symmetrical layout makes it one of the most photographed corners of the entire campus.
