A Near-Perfect Circle of Sea

This webcam looks out over one of the most distinctive coves on England's southern coast, a near-circular bay formed where the sea broke through a narrow gap in the coastal limestone and eroded the softer clay behind it. The result is a sheltered basin ringed by steep chalk and limestone cliffs.

A Working Harbor and Beach

Small fishing boats and pleasure craft rest on moorings inside the bay, while a stone jetty extends into the water to serve boat trips and rib rides along the coastline. A pebble-and-shingle beach curves around the shore, backed by cliffside footpaths.

The cove sits within a stretch of coast recognized for its exceptional geology, with layered rock formations exposed in the surrounding cliffs that attract walkers, geologists, and photographers throughout the year.
