Summit Observation Deck

The observation deck outside the Sherman Adams Summit Building gives visitors and researchers a direct eastward vantage from the top of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern United States.

Mount Washington Observatory

Operated by the non-profit Mount Washington Observatory, a private scientific research station, the deck supports ongoing study of alpine meteorology and some of the most volatile weather patterns ever recorded on the planet.

Looking east, the camera frames the Great Gulf Wilderness and the northern peaks of the Presidential Range, a rugged alpine landscape carved by ancient glaciers and shaped by relentless wind.
