This nest box camera is mounted deep inside a purpose-built barn owl box on a private smallholding in the Blackdown Hills, an unspoiled corner of the Somerset countryside chosen for its quiet fields and abundant hunting ground.

Life Inside the Box

The lens looks straight down onto the nesting chamber, where soft down feathers, regurgitated pellets, and scattered bedding material reveal the everyday routine of a resident owl family. Every visit, perch, and feeding is captured in close, unfiltered detail.

A Protected Species

Barn owls are a closely monitored species in the UK, and this feed is run in partnership with the Somerset Wildlife Trust to share their story without disturbing the birds themselves. The camera sits far enough back to remain completely unobtrusive.
