A Gateway Reborn
This terminal was completely rebuilt as an elevated station, replacing its old ground-level layout with soaring platforms that now anchor the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen "Kamome" line, the newest bullet-train route on the island of Kyushu.
Steel Tracks and Sweeping Curves
The camera looks down the length of the rail viaduct, where conventional and high-speed tracks run side by side across a broad concrete deck, carrying commuter trains and shinkansen services toward the coast in parallel.
A City Framed by Rail
Beyond the platforms, the view opens onto a dense urban skyline of low-rise blocks climbing the surrounding hillsides, with the harbor waters visible in the distance beyond the rooftops.
Kyushu's Rail Crossroads
As the western terminus of the island's bullet-train network, this station links the port city to Kyushu's interior, making the elevated concourse a constantly evolving stage for arriving and departing trains.
